Purpose Statement:

One of the greatest successes of the Cody Dieruf Benefit Foundation has been bringing together local families living with cystic fibrosis. Though the Foundation, our CF families are getting to know each other. This interaction is mending hearts and allowing them to lean on each other for encouragement and support which is best provided by those who know and understand the daily struggles of CF and the importance of both big and little victories over this disease. The Foundation strives to grow these relationships and provide families with support and encouragement.

The Foundation’s primary function is to raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and to offer financial and emotional support to local children and young adults with CF and their families.

 

Programs the Foundation will offer to these individuals and families include:

  • Assistance with travel expenses associated with obtaining necessary out-of-area CF medical care;
  • Assistance with insurance deductibles and out-of-pocket costs of necessary CF treatments, medications, and medical equipment; and
  • Scholarships for children and young adults with CF to help them achieve their life dreams such as pursuit of higher education, extra-curricular activities, sports, dance, artistic or cultural pursuits, special travel, and/or other similar activities that will enrich their lives.

 

Secondarily, the Foundation may make contributions to other charitable organizations in furtherance of the Foundations purposes. This includes support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help find a cure for CF and support of the Cody Dieruf Educational Scholarship for disabled and/or terminally ill students at Lewis & Clark College.
